Fun Facts

  1. The origin of the word ‘love’ comes from the Sanskrit लुभ्यति (lubhyati), meaning desire.

  2. Love makes you brave. Love leads to the deactivation of the amygdala in the brain, which regulates fear. Thus, you are less scared of outcomes and consequences when in love. You experience a fearlessness and bravery that you wouldn’t usually feel.

  3. Attraction can be obsessive. When we feel attracted to someone, the body releases hormones that lead to a high. Such attraction could be an obsessive trait since the body craves this high, and as a result, we like to be around the person we feel attracted to.
